Dragonflies Arrive

This particular dragonfly would fly around and land on this same dried open Daylily seed pod.. I found it odd, but wasn't going to complain, because I didn't have to run around the yard following him for pictures.

Dragonflies have appeared in the garden.. I think they were hiding during our heat wave and have come out to play now that it has cooled down a good ten degrees.

Heat Tolerant

Obviously I am not very heat tolerant.. The South takes it's toll on a girl from the Northwest. Phew at least the AC is now working, but my garden still suffers... The only thing I haven't been worried about is my spiderplant.. Typically an indoor plant, it flourishes here.. I only have to water it once a week and it keeps on growing and making babies.. As you can see one of it's babies above.. We have been in the upper 90's and low 100's with heat indexes too high for any living creature. So hence we are at a standstill in the garden..

I apologize for being MIA, school started last Wed for the oldest two and then the youngest three started yesterday. So what did I get to do for the first time since I had my oldest almost 13 years ago.. I went back to bed after getting the kids on the bus...
