Snow Day!!!

Much to our delight Wed. night it started to snow. Big fluffy flakes that actually stayed on the ground for a couple of hours. We still have several snowballs in our freezer!! We might get some snow tomorrow as well!! How fun it is for me, who grew up with bunches and bunches of snow in the dead of winter.

Blessed Rain

Finally some relief from the suffocating heat and a high water bill.. We have had pop up thunderstorms for the past 4 days and it is wonderful!! Isn't it beautiful to see raindrops on foliage and dampened earth? I am thankful for it..
On a side note, my hubby and I just celebrated our 14th wedding anniversary Tuesday.. I suprised him by going for a 90 min aromatherapy massage.. When he came out, he said the room smelled like my garden.. A compliment to me, I would like to think of my garden as aromatherapy.. I got a massage too, he wasn't going to get all the fun...

This Heat!!

It sure seems nothing in the garden is blooming right now.. This poor Black Eyed Susan is droopy. I have had to water nightly as the sun is gone, to keep things alive.. Wilting is at it's highest point so far this summer.. We hit a balmy 98 degrees F and near 37 degrees C. Hoping we get some kind of relief soon in the form of cool breezes or rain. The air is code red and not suitable to be outside.. So I haven't had much to do outside..

On another note:School starts in the middle of the week for the older boys and then the youngest three start Mon.. I guess soon I am on my own for that huge mulch pile, dropped by the mulch fairy to get spread evenly.

Hallelujah!!

Finally, we got a good downpouring of rain yesterday.. We were laying mulch and the rumbling started.. Then the downpour began and the flowers soaked it in and the kids did as well.. They got soaked playing in the warm summer rain..
