Heat Tolerant

Obviously I am not very heat tolerant.. The South takes it's toll on a girl from the Northwest. Phew at least the AC is now working, but my garden still suffers... The only thing I haven't been worried about is my spiderplant.. Typically an indoor plant, it flourishes here.. I only have to water it once a week and it keeps on growing and making babies.. As you can see one of it's babies above.. We have been in the upper 90's and low 100's with heat indexes too high for any living creature. So hence we are at a standstill in the garden..

I apologize for being MIA, school started last Wed for the oldest two and then the youngest three started yesterday. So what did I get to do for the first time since I had my oldest almost 13 years ago.. I went back to bed after getting the kids on the bus...

I wouldn't mind shorter winters but that climate is definitely on the no thank you list for me. I've told hubby that I need snow - so we can't go further south than places where there is at least some snow in the winter. You have my sympathy.

Great healthy looking spiderplants. They obviously love it! :-)

A few years ago I potted up some Spider plant babies and planted them outside in the summer. They did really well and looked healthier than the indoor ones...I had to bring them in before the frosts though.
