Garden Well Planned? Not at this House..

I was showing my co worker the front of my house, and he made a hilarious comment.. He tells me it "looks like some one threw up flowers all over my house".. You can look at it that way.. He is a very organized person, this isn't his style.. But, it is mine.. I don't plan my garden, I just put things where I think and feel they should go.. And guess what??? It works out, and works out well.. My garden is a hodge podge of this and that, with some yard decoration such as stepping stones and wind spinners. All carefully, well not so much, picked out and placed by my helpers.. Helpers include birds that drop seeds from my neighbors yard , as they are being chased off the property by the garden cats. Not just human helpers have created this garden. So my question to all of you is, what type of garden do you have??

This picture below, is just a small view of the front of the house.. Mainly the front porch.. Soon I will be painting the front wooden door a black gloss and put a brass kickplate on the bottom.. One of the many projects in my mind..

Good for you! My garden is a "if there's a gap fill it" sort of garden...and it works for me...I don't have to o any weeding...there's no room for them to grow :o)
Lovely porch!

Mine is all but organized. Just a hodgepodge like you said.

Beautiful.........my style of gardening is just like yours! My son inherited by gardening bug but he "landscapes", he plants something and then puts 20 yards of decorative mulch around it, I don't need mulch, my flower beds are covered with flowers :).

Hodgepodge RULES! I describe our garden the exact same way--as a hodgepodge. I like your coworker's description even if he IS rather more organized sounding than me. (I need a sign that says, "I have no idea where this plant came from!" )

thanks for letting me know I am not the only one.. My neighbor across the street is a gardener, but loves a lot of landscaping.. We have two very different looks.

You have a gorgeous home! Looks like your windows are floor to ceiling? Love the amount of light it lets in.
I am in your corner with my style of gardening. Our house would not work with the landscaped beds. Plus when I see a plant I like I buy it and worry about a home for it later. It usually gets stuck wherever there is some ground showing. Thanks for sharing!!

The front room has floor to ceiling and then the rest of the house is 2/3 the length of the wall.. Lots of glass to clean..:)
Please come again!!

What a comment to make of your co-worker! Well, I am a lot like you and definitely like KC Gardener. I buy something and think later where I will put it. I will never be the English gardener type or be put into any category. My garden expresses who I am at the moment. What disturbed me in the U.S. very often was that Junipers and other green shrubs were usually the only thing you'd see in front yards and in the back yard it would be grass only. That was called "gardening". I am glad that I have learned differently in blog-land and that there are so many people who actually put color in their gardens. Your front looks nice! I can only put pots out front - but lots of them. :-) :-)

I love your front porch! I like the way the shutter color is picked up by the plants along the edge - and the blue is a beautiful accent.
Your way of gardening makes a lot of sense to me - and the results are beautiful!

Looks a bit like my front house - a general jumble...I just can't focus well enough to design a garden. :) Too many ideas bouncing around inside my head.

You're my kind of gardener, controlled chaos, birds "planting" the seeds, yes, I can relate to all that.

Throwing up flowers, ohmigosh! But it looks great!
