A Visit to West Yellowstone MT

We had a fun trip to West Yellowstone National Park yesterday. We got to see some wildlife in their own habitat. One that we saw was unbelievable, and to see in the wild is unheard of. We saw a father bald eagle protecting his nest of young eagles. You could see two little eagle heads poking out of the nest. We also saw old faithful, buffalo, coyote, and elk as well.

We keep promising ourselves that one of these days we will take a vacation out west. My husband got to spend a whole summer there when he was in college for geology field camp. Their base camp was in Red Lodge, MT, but they traveled around quite a bit to map the terrain. I hope we get to see it together before we are both too old and decrepit to do any hiking!
