Garden Patrol

She quietly makes her round around the perimeter of the yard everyday, several times a day. She has kept the chipmunks out, the other neighborhood cats and the geese the frequent the lake nearby. She has been know to chase a kid or two out as well.

Penelope is an eight year old domestic short hair.. In other words a mutt.. Although she could almost pass as a Russian Blue because of her coloring.. Her face gives it away that she is just a regular cat..

She follows me where ever I go in the yard. If I stay in one place then she will stay, providing there is shade to rest in.. She is a good garden friend and the matriarch of the cat household at our home..

She must be a good gardening companion. And keeper of the garden.

You are so fortunate to have a good garden cat - I love the way they stay close while one gardens. I so miss my cat, Hazel, who used to shadow me in the garden. My big, brown dog isn't quite the same presence. Penelope is a beautiful name! Give her some hugs for me!
